Their simple, colorful and playful designs have long been a favorite around here, so seeing this Google doodle this morning was a delight.

“The playful Marimekko doodles form the Google logo with a joyful interplay of elements of iconic Marimekko printed textiles by eight renowned designers: Maija Isola, Kristina Isola, Erja Hirvi, Maija Louekari, Aino-Maija Metsola, Teresa Moorhouse, Jenni Tuominen and Katsuji Wakisaka.”

Wow! Beautiful work from designer Timur Salikhov on the Graphic ExchanGE blog today. I love the typography, simple black and white, and clever shapes, all done with a bit of humor. There’s not much on either the blog or the designer’s website about the project, so I’m not sure what all of the pieces are, but whatever they are, they’re fantastic!
