Tuesday, March 1st, 2011Despite the sunny skies and warm-ish temperatures here in Basalt, I know it’s not officially spring yet; there are several weeks left in the ski season up in Aspen, and I’m sure there are more snowstorms to come. Which is why our March calendar page is inspired by skiing – spring skiing, in particular. March, to me, means a mix of sun and snow; often our biggest storms of the year come now, but they’re punctuated by sunny days and warm, spring skiing. I have to admit that I don’t ski quite as much in March now that I live down valley (I might even ride my bike tomorrow!), but I won’t pass up an opportunity to hike the bowl and après with my girlfriends if one arises.
The ideas, images and ink for the month are:
ideas buttery turns in soft spring snow
images line of skier-ants hiking highlands bowl
ink new neons
